CANCELLED!!!
This event first had to be postponed due to weather, and then none of the registrants could make the rain date. We will plan this even for another time. Come enjoy the benefits of bike riding a rail trail! We'll start at noon. This ride will take 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on stops and comfort level. We've planned a bike ride along a stretch of the Torry C. Brown Rail Trail and Heritage Rail Trail (it switches names as it crosses state lines). This is a casual ride accessible to all all skill levels. The Sinclairs have ridden this particular route several times, so it's familiar for a first community ride! If this goes well, we'll schedule other community bike rides. We'll start at the parking area in Parkton, MD on the Torry C Brown trail. We will then ride north (slightly uphill) for 8 miles until we reach New Freedom, PA. There we can have lunch at Paesano's Pizza (which serves other foods too) and maybe follow that up with an ice cream at Bonkey's which is one block away on the same street. After lunch and ice cream, you'll find your ride back to your car will be nearly effortless as you'll be pedaling downhill most of the way. We have postponed the bike ride for the 17th of August because of severe storms predicted that day. We will try again and hope for no storms for Saturday, August 24th at Noon. Please register so we know who to expect. We don't want to leave anyone behind!
