NoVES Discussion: What makes Community?

We all have multiple identities that are expressed in various ways.  What communities do you belong to?  What are the things attracting you to these communities?  How do you participate?  Do your communities meet your needs?  This discussion will NOT be centered only on NoVES.  Come and share you experience of community and discuss why communities are important for you.
