  • Sunday, January 23, 2022
  • 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Sven Sinclair, PhD, is an economist and actuary by profession, a chess player, a past Jeopardy winner, and and a political junkie and games enthusiast in his free time. He lives in Columbia, MD, and has been a member of NOVES for 16 years.

His talk is titled:  RISK, SAFETY, AND SOCIETY: LESSONS FROM THE PANDEMIC

The pandemic has shown us the great potential of science as well as revealed things about human behavior that don’t inspire a lot of optimism. It made me think a lot about how people assess risks to themselves and the society and how they react to those risks. I will share those thoughts in this platform talk.
