Spending White Privilege
White Privilege can be seen as capital that can be used to relieve the suffering of marginalized people. Spending White Privilege can take the form of supporting minority institutions, standing in solidarity with people of color, listening to non-white narratives, and stepping back to yield to the desires and demands of others. I will provide an introduction to this concept and a recent example of where this has come into play. We will unpack the example in small groups, then come back together to share our insights and conclusions.
NoVES will be meeting in person!!! We have reached a point in the pandemic when we feel able to meet in person again. We ask that all who attend in person be fully vaccinated and willing to wear a mask. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided for you. No food will be served, but we will celebrate seeing each other in person.
Clergy Leader, Randy Best will lead us in our first face to face platform in 18 months.
If you are unable to join us in person, we will still be providing virtual access.
