Our democracy is under threat. The fundamental principle of a democracy is that the people get to choose who governs them. The peaceful transition of power is a cornerstone of our democratic system, ensuring the people can have a say over our shared future. Yet the president has repeatedly refused to say whether he will respect the result of the election should he lose. This raises the terrifying prospect of a coup: the illegal and immoral seizure of power from the duly elected administration.
What will Ethical Societies, as communities committed to democracy, do if the president refuses to honor the results of the election? How might we make our voices heard? Join this event to learn how democracy is central to Ethical Humanism, and how you can act to protect our democracy should the worst occur.
The event will be held on Zoom and is hosted by St. Louis. to enter this meeting, You will need to use this link to get to zoom: https://zoom.us/join and then it will ask you for a meeting code and then you should use meeting ID: 384 422 5785.
