NoVES Leader Randy Best will talk about the issues of purity and intolerance. As Randy says, "What are the frameworks that contribute to ideas of good and bad? In Jonathan Haidt’s formulation conservatives and conservative cultures include ideas of purity in their moral framework. Cultural and religious ideas of purity are largely thought to act outside of liberal thought. I am not so certain that this is true. I will look at ideas of purity and how they affect attitudes on conservative and liberal cultures, and within myself as well."
