NoVES November News and Notes
After a long year of protesting and fighting for our human rights in this country, It was exciting to see the good news of the results of the election this week! Thanks to all our members and friends who have been working so hard to defend our democracy and to protect the rights of all humans in this country. Although I know there is still a long way to go and much more to do, I hope we can all take a moment to breath, relax, and celebrate, knowing that there is hope for the future. After that respite, then we can continue our efforts towards making our society a more caring and cooperative community!
Next, please mark your calendars for the upcoming joint Stone Soup and Salad event on Sunday morning, November 23, 2025. Our Northern Virginia Ethical Society will be participating again with the Washington and Baltimore Ethical Societies The gathering will take place at the WES building. Please check the Noves.org website for updated details of the event closer to the date. It is important to join forces with fellow Humanists to show solidarity and strength. We are all individuals, but we have more power to create greater positive change in the world when we work together. I hope many of you will be able to attend!
One last important note- NoVES has a Facebook Page again! If you are a Facebook member, please help us out by following our page and liking, sharing and/or commenting on events that are listed there. While you are there, please also search for other Ethical Societies that have Facebook pages and do the same. The more we do this, the better the reach of our pages will be so that those looking for for an Ethical Society can find one! We would like to be on other social platforms, so if any member has expertise with other sites like Instagram or Discord, and has time to help us set up a site, please contact me or any board member to get this started.
Thanks as always for everything that each member and friend of NoVES has been doing already to help keep our society up and running. Your efforts are greatly appreciated!
