April is a great time for renewing our spirits, attending events and advocating for others. At NoVES, on the Sunday, April 6, we will have an in-person only activity, the Annual Spring Festival. This year the theme is Potluck and Poetry- come celebrate the start of spring and bring along some food as well as Spring poems, songs or flowers to share. On April 13, we will meet on Zoom only to discuss "An American Dream Deferred". We will not meet on zoom or in person on April 20, so members can have time with their families and friends. Finally, on Sunday, April 27, we will have a hybrid meeting lead by Kristen Hayden and our older teens. They will talk about the mission and current status of La Mano Amiga, a non-profit started by one of our Sunday School Graduates, Jessica. We will be collecting donations through-out the month of April to donate to this worthy cause. More details of these meetings can be found on the NOVES.org website and in the weekly newsletter.
Also throughout April, there are opportunities to participate in Ethical Actions. These are now listed on our webpage, NOVES.org, so please check it often to see what new events have been added. Thanks to Iris Woodard for gathering this information for us, so that we can take part in any way we can to resist the negative events happening around us, and advocate for positive changes. There are other activities such as zoom coffee hours every Tuesday at 10am and a Happy Hour to support La Mano Amiga on Thursday, April 24th from 6pm-8pm. The link to get tickets is below

Whatever actions you take this April, if you are a member, please take the time to renew your membership with NoVES by pledging whatever you can by April 30, 2025. This will help the board to create our 2025-26 budget, so that NoVES may continue providing platforms for our members and friends, and advocating for the rights of all humans. If you are not a member yet, we hope you will consider joining NoVES. Applications are available at in-person meetings. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact any board member or our leader, Randy Best.
